Dr. Kollins is board certified in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology and is a native to Virginia, growing up in Northern Virginia and graduating from the University of Virginia for his undergraduate studies. He knew he wanted to be a pediatric cardiologist since his first exposure to the field in 2003, and has been focused on Pediatric Cardiology for the last 23 years since that time.  He served as a Chief Resident in Pediatrics at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters before going on to cardiology fellowship at Nationwide Children's Hospital (Ohio State University), in Columbus, Ohio. After cardiology fellowship he moved back to Virginia and was part of the University of Virginia, helping to develop a pediatric subspecialty clinic in Winchester, Virginia.  He was recruited by Seattle Children's Hospital to help build their Pediatric Cardiology practice in Anchorage, Alaska, serving in the clinical leadership role for several years until he was elected to the role of the Chair of Department of Pediatrics for Providence Alaska Medical Center, in Anchorage, Alaska, the states largest medical center. He was also on the executive board for the Alaska state chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics for most of his time in Alaska as well.  He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and, after nomination, is proud to be a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Wanting to start his own Pediatric Cardiology practice and move closer to family in Virginia and along the South East Coast, he is thrilled to be starting Pediatric Cardiology of Winchester, where he will be the only full time pediatric cardiologist living in Winchester and serving the community here. In his spare time he enjoys landscape photography, driving his jeep, and spending time with his wonderful wife and three children.
